  • Harbor : Free Collectable Bag & Gem Bag - Talk to Mari near the Leaky Dingy. Remember to set the bags to Auto Gather.
  • Marketplace : Free Tiny Ingredients Bag, go to the north side of the marketplace and find a Warforged, named Vertigo, with a bag in his hand. Talk to him for your free bag.
  • The Twelve : Free Small Ingredients bag (it's bigger than Tiny), get this bag before you start running too many harbor quest, as it will hold all the Essences that drop as treasure. Go to the Marketplace, The Twelve entrence is in the SW corner of the market, go into the Twelve's main Tower, once inside, look at the map and go to the guy with a Star icon. Talk to Jeanselme and he will give you a free bag! Dont' forget to set it to auto-gather.
  • Harbor : Wide Quiver x2 (if you are going ranged, get some thin Quivers also), Where : Hammer and Chain (West side of harbor map), Missle Weapon Vendor. Quivers are bags for arrows and bolts. Equip 1 quiver in your quiver slot and leave the second in the bottom of the 1st backpack tab. Set both to auto-gater. Then every few quests, empty them out and sell everything. It's like having an extra pack, but just for arrows and bolts.
  • Missle Weapon : Everyone should have a missle weapon. Bow an Arrow if you are a dex based character. A Returning Throwing weapon if you are strength based. There are several quests where you need to hit a distant target. You can find Returning Throwing weapons in the Auction House.
  • Muckbane (Get 2 if you are a Two Weapon Fighter), Quest : Durks Got a Secret:L2. The quest is at the top of the ramp in the harbor. Everyone needs a weapon to fight oozes/slimes. Why? Slimes destory normal weapons and Muckbane is immune. Before you do Durks Got a Secret, make sure you go to the Hammer and Chain and buy 4 basic clubs. Use the clubs to fight the oozes.
  • Haggle Item : you can pull a +3 haggle item from any low level quests, don't buy one, just find one, keep it, and use it.
  • Bluffing Item : if you pull one, keep it as a few quest do need the bluff skill. Don't worry if you don't have one. Not used much.
  • Jump Clicky : +10 Jump Spell, often very handy. Find at the marketplace pawn brokers or the Auction House.
  • Detect Secret Doors Clicky : Characters with low search skill will want these. Pawn Brokers or Auction House.
  • Haste Clicky : For all Non Wizard and Sorcers. Often expensive and hard to find, Auction House.
  • Heroism Clicky : For all melee characters. Often expensive and hard to find, Auction House.
  • Invisablity Clicky : Use it when you want to run to a quest without getting attacked. Nice for outdoor area quests. Auction House.
  • If you can't find the clicky in the auction house, try the marketplace pawn show vendors (the low level ones). You can often find the clicky you want cheap. Also, since there are multiple marketplaces, swith to all of the markets and see what those vendor have as each vendor in each marketplace instance will have different stuff for sale.
  • Permanent Feather Fall Item : The clicky cloak of feathers from Korthos is ok, but everyone will want to get a permanent feather fall item. You can find L5+ feather fall items on rings and boots from many midlevel quests. These items will be quite expensive in the auction house.
  • Underwater Action Item : The underwater action clicky ring they give as starter gear works for most of the beginner quests, but most non-warforged characters will want a permanent underwater action item. Found on Headgears, Necklaces and Rings. Also the Bottle of Air Trinket:L1, Cult of Six end reward : Bubble Belt:L7, Pearl of Sirines:L7, Aquatic Bracers L11. All underwater action items are in-demand and are very expensive. Waterbreathing potions can be drank while swimming underwater, so a cheaper method might be to stock up on them.
  • Voice of the Master : +1 to all Skills, +1 to all saves, +5% experience. This always available as an EndReward for the Delara's quest chain. Trinket Slot, I switch it in near the end of any quest. Delara is a Pay to Play quest (P2P).
  • Stat Items : Any item that gives a +X enchantement bonus to STR, DEX, CON, INT, WIS, CHR. Most characters should have STR even on non-melee characters to allow them to carry more treasure as a light load, DEX most will want an improved Armor Class, CON most want more hit points. If you are a Rogue or a Wizard you'll want an INT item. WIS, if you are a Cleric or Monk, CHA items for Sorcers, Favored Souls, Paladin, and everyone else who wants to sell loot to vendors at a higher price.
  • Medium Collectable Bag, 8000pp, House P, House J : If you are picking up a lot of collectables to make money, you can purchase a medium collectable bag. It is spendy, but makes collectables more more convient. Unfortunally, they limit you to 1 med collectable bag in your backpack at a time. But with a Med and Small, you can carry most of your collectables. It is bound to account, so if you have a shared bank, you can hand it down to your other characters.

Beginner Gear that Could Drop and would be nice to have :

  • Gravnok's Band:L2, The Captives, In Cerulean Hills, drops in the final boss chest. It's nice Resistance +2, Lesser Fire Resistance, Lesser Cold Resistance all rolled into one ring.
  • Furor's Hide:L1, Garrison's Missing Pack:L2, Furor is a rare spawn, he sometimes appears in the room at the top of the ladder when you are climbing out of the water. If you get him, his hide may be in his chest. Lesser Axe block damage reduction 3 for slashing weapons.
  • Ring of Feathers:L1 found in the final boss chest of STK (P2P). It does not drop very often maybe 1 in 20 times.
